The LPD is currently investigating multiple vehicle break ins on the East side of Lewistown. The police department would like to remind everyone to please keep your vehicle locked at all times even if you’re “just gone for a second”.
Also, make sure you take your valuable items inside your house or put them out of sight when your vehicle is unattended. And if you can, park in well lit areas.

Ford is recalling 680,000 vehicles because of a seat belt defect.
It affects 2013 to 2016 Ford Fusions, 2013 to 2015 Lincoln MLZs and 2015-2016 Mondeos.
Ford officials said the front seat belts can snap in a crash. There are reports of at least two people who have been injured in crashes.
The waiting period for a divorce in now shorter in Pennsylvania.
A new law took effect Saturday for a no-fault divorce.
The new law amends the divorce code, making the waiting period one-year instead of two. It also limits the amount of time a dependent spouse can collect financial support from the other; sometimes encouraging them to drag out the proceedings.
The Battle of the Morning Shows came to a close Friday as donations were counted for Merf, Bigfoot Country and WIEZ.
All morning shows were on Monument Square in Downtown Lewistown from 11-2 ringing bells and waving to encourage others to make a donation to the local Savation army to help local families in need.
Merf took home first place by raising over $6,000, Bigfoot Country came in second raising just shy of $2200 and WIEZ came in third with raising over $500. In total, almost $8700 will go to help the Salvation Army help families in Central PA.
